Reset Yaelink phone to factory default bypassing password lock
To factory default a yaelink phone, the usual method is to press and hold the OK button in the center of the arrow keys until the message "Reset to factory setting?" appears, where you would then press the OK soft key. However in rare cases, this method will not work due to it being password locked. To get around this, follow these steps:
- Remove power from the phone, if POE powered, remove network cable.
- With the phone powered off, press and hold the speaker phone button and reconnect power.
- Keep holding down the speaker phone button until the phone boots into recovery mode.
- (For T42S, go to step 5) Press 1 to finish booting the phone. One the phone finishes booting, repeat normal factory default procedure as described at the beginning of the article.
- *T42S ONLY* press 1 to get to the TFTP menu. Then press and hold OK to start the TFTP process.
- Once the phone shows "Start Configurating", power cycle the phone.
- Once the phone boots again, repeat the normal factory default procedure.
Now your phones are ready to be configured with the auto provisioning server.
